LIFEGUARD NUMBERS
Due to these Health & Safety Regulations there are also maximum and minimum requests due to the amount of Lifeguards supervising the pool.
- 1 lifeguard = the pool cannot be opened.
- 2 lifeguards = certain areas of the pool must be closed (usually the baby pool and ½ of the deep area)
- 3 lifeguards = the entire pool can be open, or the baby pool and half the deep end is closed for the slide to be opened.
- 4 lifeguards = the entire pool can be open as well as the slide.
POOL RULES
Due to Health & Safety Regulations surrounding pool operations set by the Health & Safety Executive there are certain rules and procedures, which must always be followed;
- No Jumping (in certain parts of the pool)
- No Snorkels, snorkel masks or flippers
- No balls other than beach balls
- No unaccompanied children under the age of 8
- Lifeguards must be obeyed at all times
OPENING TIMES
Due to the different activities which go on and peak periods of the leisure pool the timetable changes between School Term Time and School Holidays. Please see both timetables for more information.
- Last entry 1 hour before pool closes.
- Please check swim times before visiting.
- The waves are on every half hour except during swimming lessons, adults only & aqua aerobics.
- The Aqua slide operates between 11:00am and 6:00pm on weekends during School Term Time.
- The Aqua slide operates between 11:00am and 6:00pm every day during School Holidays.
- The Baby Pool is open for use at peak times and fully dependant on lifeguarding numbers. Due to Health & Safety if any area of the pool has to become unsupervised it must be closed immediately. Due to our unique walk in beach like shallow end the closure of the Baby Pool will hopefully not affect your visit. Many times that the baby pool is closed will mean that the Aqua Slide is open. Please call before your visit to have the up to date status of the Baby Pool.
- A range of swim accessories are available to buy from reception.
POOL CAPACITY
The Marina Centre’s capacity with the entire pool open is 200 people, if the limit is reached then we will automatically revert to a coloured wrist band system and a time limit of 1 hour will be enforced.
